Finding the Right Therapist for You
Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. No matter how many credentials a counselor has, the most important factor is the connection between you and your therapist. When you feel safe, respected, and truly understood, real growth can happen.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation to give you a sense of how I work and who I am.
If I’m not the best fit for you, I’ll do my best to connect you with someone who can help. My goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate space where you feel empowered to begin your journey toward healing.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy is not about “fixing” you (because you are not broken!). What it is about is creating a place to explore what’s working in your life, what’s not, and what you want to change. In our work together, you’ll have a steady, supportive presence as we untangle what’s weighing you down and move toward what matters most to you.
We’ll meet weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your needs, to build momentum and deepen the work. I approach each session with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your unique story. Therapy is a collaborative process - one where you bring your lived experience, and I bring tools and insights to help guide the journey.
While I draw from a variety of proven therapeutic approaches, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. I tailor our work to who you are, what you’re carrying, and where you want to go. That might mean addressing thought patterns that keep you stuck, tending to old wounds, or learning new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I also know the real healing doesn’t come from insight alone - it comes from experiencing something different. In therapy, that might look like being deeply understood for the first time, feeling safe enough to express hard emotions, or practicing new ways of coping in a supportive space.
Ultimately, I’m here to help you reconnect with your best self, build emotional resilience, and make changes that are not just possible - but sustainable.

A Commitment to Ongoing Learning: I’m always learning and evolving as a therapist—because the more I understand, the more fully I can support your healing. I’m especially interested in the lasting impact of trauma, including early attachment wounds and how those experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others.
I’m also deeply fascinated by the brain—its ability to adapt, protect, and heal continues to inspire me. The more we understand how the brain works, the more clearly we can chart a path toward growth and lasting change.
Through ongoing education and training, I stay connected to the latest insights in neuroscience and trauma-informed care, so the support you receive is both compassionate and grounded in the most up-to-date understanding of what truly helps.
My education and training are theologically, biblically, and clinically focused, allowing me to integrate faith-based principles with evidence-based counseling approaches and other innovative brain-body modalities.
This unique combination equips me to address both emotional and spiritual needs for those who request it, offering a more integrated approach to therapy.
Specialties & Techniques
In our work together, I use a blend of evidence-based and other innovative techniques to fit your unique needs, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Often, we develop mental habits - like black-and-white thinking, living with constant “should” statements running through our heads, or constant thoughts of worst-case scenarios. These thought patters reinforce anxiety, low mood, or feeling “stuck”. Using CBT, we work together to recognize those patterns and practice more balanced ways of thinking and responding. It’s a practical and empowering approach that can support real, day-to-day change.
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) is grounded in the belief that emotions are not problems to be solved but rather important messengers. EFT helps you make sense of emotional experiences and the patterns they create, especially in relationships. Whether you’re feeling disconnected from yourself or a loved one, EFT offers a path toward deeper emotional insight, greater self-compassion, and more secure, meaningful connections.
Mindfulness & Somatic (Body-Based) Techniques can help slow you down and return to the present moment when life feels overwhelming or chaotic. These techniques involve gentle awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations - without judgment. By tuning in to your body’s signals, you can better regulate your nervous system, manage stress, and feel more grounded. These practices are especially supportive for trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress.
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based practice for healing trauma, anxiety, and distress tied to past experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation (like guided eye movements or tapping) to help your brain reprocess stuck or painful memories in a safe and structured way. Over time, memories that once felt overwhelming can lose their emotional charge, allowing you to feel more present, empowered, and free from the past.>> LEARN MORE
Brainspotting is a focused, brain-body approach for accessing deep emotional pain and unresolved trauma. It works by identifying specific eye positions connected to stored emotional experiences, allowing you to process and release feelings that may be outside of conscious awareness. Many people find Brainspotting to be a powerful way to move through blocks, reduce anxiety, and connect with their inner resilience. >> LEARN MORE
